Bleduk Kuwu is a cauldron of mud (mud volcano) located in the village  of Kuwu, District Kradenan, Grobogan district, Central Java Province.  This place can be taken approximately 28 km to the east of the city  Purwodadi. Bleduk Kuwu is one of the prime attractions in this area, In  addition to eternal fire (mrapen), and Reservoir (Kedungombo).
Objects of interest from bleduk kuwu are small eruptions that contain  salt and place on a regular basis, between 2 and 3 minutes.
In geology, crater Kuwu mud, as other mud craters, is a gas discharge  activity in the core of the earth. This gas is usually is methane. Kuwu  is the only one located in Central Java. eruptions sludge that occurs  usually brings also a solution of mineral-rich mud from the bottom  upwards. Sidoarjo mud volcanoes are also caused by mud craters, although  for the latter activity level is higher
Mud from this crater the water contains salt, by the local people  used to be used as material for salt bleng (IPA: / bləng /),  traditionally. The trick is to take water from bleduk it, then dry in  the Glagah(bamboo rods split into two)
According to stories handed down the circulating among local  communities, Bleduk * Kuwu occurs because of the hole that connects it  with the South Sea (Indian Ocean). It is said that the hole was way back  Joko linglung from the South Sea to the kingdom Medang Kamulan after  defeating the King of Gods Cengkar which has turned into a white  alligator in the South Seas. “Joko linglung” reputedly able to make the  hole because he can be transformed into a dragon which is the condition  that he recognized as his son Raden Aji Saka.
